Myths in Japan

Famous mythological creatures from other places and how they would look like if they were Japanese instead.

Gryphon from Persian mythology. Usually depicted as a half eagle half lion creature. If this creature were to exist in Japan, I imagined it would've been a half cranebird half lion.

Medusa from Greek mythology. Said to have possessed extraordinary beauty, is a half woman half snake. In my Japanese version, the snakes are the legendary Yamata no Orochi. This is why the snakes have traditional Japanese dragon/snake style.

Centaur from Greek mythology. Usually depicted as a half human half horse like creature. In Japan, it would've have most likely be half deer, since their appearance is so common.
